Vixen vmc260l cloudy nights4/28/2023 ![]() That could possibly have made the optics look less good. It did have difficulty acclimating to dropping temperatures, even though it was kept outdoors in a small observatory. ![]() That appeared to be the case with the Vixen, but the image quality was generally mediocre. It does have more aperture, and the corrector system is supposed to do much the same as the Celestron Edge built-in corrector, producing a flatter field and getting rid of coma. I had a Vixen VMC 260L for nearly 5 years until recently, and found it disappointing visually, nowhere near the Mewlon's optical excellence. ![]() I have a Tak Mewlon 210 and the photo R/C, and can say that the 210 is very good for imaging with the C/R, and very good for visual without the R/C (which supposedly is only for imaging, and Tak don't make an adapter to use it visually). ![]() If imaging is your interest, Tak offer a photographic reducer/corrector of high quality. ![]()
